OUR STORY
Burnt Oringe International, the global FF&E procurement company you see today, was founded in Hong Kong in 2009 as a home textiles business with a clear focus on sustainability. Founder and CEO, Tarynn Hatton Jones’s passion for eco-friendly interiors had been sparked a few years earlier when she struggled to find organic, toxin-free home textiles in Hong Kong—particularly important for her daughter, who was experiencing respiratory issues. Determined to find a solution, she began importing sustainable linens for personal use—unaware this would soon evolve into a full-fledged career. When the 2008 global financial crisis hit, Tarynn was working in Legal & Compliance at a bank. Like many, she was prompted to rethink her professional path. With a growing interest in sustainable living and firsthand experience of a market gap, she took a leap—launching her own business importing organic and sustainable home textiles. In the early days, the concept of eco-friendly homeware was still unfamiliar in Hong Kong. But Tarynn’s passion drove her to not only thrive as a business owner, but also an educator and advocate for sustainable living. The business flourished, supplying beautiful organic linens to both individuals and businesses worldwide through a Hong Kong showroom and online store. Driven by her commitment to sustainability, Tarynn began sourcing directly from trusted factories in China and Pakistan. By building strong relationships with sourcing agents on the ground, the business expanded naturally into supplying products for larger design projects. As client requests grew, so did the scope—soon Tarynn was sourcing FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) for commercial and private interiors. Recognising the opportunity for further growth, Burnt Oringe International made the strategic decision to focus exclusively on FF&E procurement for architects, interior designers, stylists, property developers, and directly for hotels, restaurants, and corporate clients. Today, Burnt Oringe International proudly partners with clients around the world—offering a trusted, stress-free route to FF&E procurement across Asia.
